Your role at Mapiq

The Data Engineer's work is instrumental to keeping the data science platform resilient to data integrity issues, service disruptions, and vulnerabilities. You will structure data, so it flows efficiently and securely through pipelines to serve the data science projects. Your role at Mapiq will include making the life of our data consumers, including data scientists, BI specialists and our customers easier by:

  • Designing, implementing and maintaining a modern big data architecture in Azure ecosystem
  • Contributing to and promoting good software engineering practices across the team
  • Creating reusable, maintainable, scalable (vertical, horizontal) integrations and services using a cutting-edge cloud infrastructure
  • Enabling and running data migrations across different databases and different servers
  • Consolidating data relating to the business from several sources and collaborating with teams to integrate more data sources
  • Maintaining and improving our infrastructure to collect, structure, improve and share data with downstream and client-facing applications

Who are we looking for?

Our ideal candidate has at least 1-2 years of experience in designing and implementing big-data pipelines, who understands the vital role of a trustable, scalable and easy to manage big data ecosystem. Additionally,  someone who stands behind our mission to build great places to work.

Necessary skills and experience:

  • Experience working with Big Data technologies such as Spark, Spark SQL, Pyspark
  • Experience working with Azure ecosystem is a must, including Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Azure Functions, Azure Data Explorer. Databricks is a plus
  • Experience in agile(scrum) development method
  • Have experience with Microsoft SQL, CosmosDB, Python and .NET / C#
  • Experience working with streaming data is a big plus
  • Knowledge of query optimization, tuning, and database design
