About Mapiq

At Mapiq we create flexible work solutions dedicated to making offices smarter, happier, and more sustainable. Our smart workplace technology provides companies around the globe with the tools they need to foster creative and collaborative hybrid working. We are rapidly growing and always on the lookout to hire ambitious individuals who will bring their ideas, background, and culture to the Mapiq team.

Your role at Mapiq

You will join our design team of 3 that makes a big impact on our company. That means we do a broad set of design activities ranging from brand to product for which we collaborate closely with other disciplines like development, data-science, marketing, customer success and support. As a Lead Product Designer you’ll bring the team across the whole user journey that we support with our products. You are the one that keeps track on aligning the business goals with a product strategy, which results in a successful business and happy customers. Mapiq will be scaling-up for the coming years and managing this growth is an important part of your role as a team lead. Here’s what you’ll do:

  • Set up a structure that optimizes supply and demand in the design team; like updating processes and coordinate this work approach with the other teams

  • Advise our management, explore ways to strengthen our position in the market and find new opportunities for Mapiq

  • You monitor the schedule so the Product Designers can take care of making beautiful and functional designs

  • Coach the team in their personal development and further build on the position of the design team within Mapiq. That might also mean growing the team

  • Occasionally jump in when extra hands are needed

Who are we looking for?

We try to keep it realistic, but if we have to describe our perfect candidate it would be someone with 6+ years of experience in Digital Product Design, and 3+ years of experience in leading a team of Product Designers, who understands SaaS and stands behind our mission to build great places to work.

  • This isn’t the first time you’ve faced these challenges. Probably your portfolio showcases your interaction design, prototyping and user research skills.
  • You have experience with our design tool; Figma
  • Obviously, you are a supportive and enthusiastic team lead!
  • Good at overseeing complex systems. You know how to create a good experience for users across the entire customer journey and by means of various devices
  • You are highly interested in human behavior and what impact technology can have on people
  • You like to use data to support your strategic decisions for the design team
  • You are available for 36–40 hours per week, remotely combined with visiting our (new) office in Delft
  • And authorized to work in The Netherlands.

We are working in an industry that is going sky high, and we wouldn’t be able to keep up without the talented people we have at Mapiq. We always strive to hire people that bring their own ideas, background and culture to raise the bars with us.

What to expect?

  • A managing role in a team of talented and driven product designers

  • An inspirational and fast-growing international work environment

  • A company that cares about your wellbeing
  • Fun! We love our jobs and work hard, but we know how to play hard too; we can come into the office more often but remain very flexible towards remote working. Our bi-weekly bootcamps are back, the quarterly meetings are fun and outside of the office, and of course we have our board game nights
  • 25 days of annual paid leave
  • A solid pension-plan
  • Competitive pay – of course, no one really knows what that means. To us it means that we pay you what seems fair to us, looking at your current experience and skills. We’ll discuss salary during the very first talk we have with you to make sure you know what to expect.

Join us!

Feel like you have been reading a description of yourself? Come join us! The only thing we need you to do is to leave your thoughts on the job as well as your CV with us. We will review your application and invite you for a call with our Recruiter if we think there could be a match. After this, you can expect two rounds: one virtually and one at the office. A business case might be part of one of the two interviews.
